Silent Cube for long-term storage on hard drives

Hard drives are not particularly suitable for long term storage of data, because they tend to be torn up and broken. But Silent Cube is a technically interesting solution!
Silent Cube is not for home users, we can conclude from the start. But it's still pretty cool! Basically it is an external storage device whose purpose is to stay as long as possible.
In order to do this utilizes twelve hard drives that mirror each other in a way that allows up to four of the disks may break, without losing any information. By using four drives each from three different vendors to propagate the risks of further problems.

The capacity of the Silent Cube is scalable up to petabyte-area. This is done by using multiple devices. Each Silent Cube has 4TB of storage. To deal with Silent Cube needed a rack mount head unit with NAS interface, and such controls up to 128 units.
Silent Cube distributed in Sweden by the Optical Storage. A basic package with the main unit and a Silent Cube has a target price of approximately 100 000 SEK.
