Silent Cube for long-term storage on hard drives

Hard drives are not particularly suitable for long term storage of data, because they tend to be torn up and broken. But Silent Cube is a technically interesting solution!
Silent Cube is not for home users, we can conclude from the start. But it's still pretty cool! Basically it is an external storage device whose purpose is to stay as long as possible.
In order to do this utilizes twelve hard drives that mirror each other in a way that allows up to four of the disks may break, without losing any information. By using four drives each from three different vendors to propagate the risks of further problems.

The capacity of the Silent Cube is scalable up to petabyte-area. This is done by using multiple devices. Each Silent Cube has 4TB of storage. To deal with Silent Cube needed a rack mount head unit with NAS interface, and such controls up to 128 units.
Silent Cube distributed in Sweden by the Optical Storage. A basic package with the main unit and a Silent Cube has a target price of approximately 100 000 SEK.

Here you can download free music totally legal

To download music from the Internet need not be criminal. It is fully legal options, and one of these is the Creative Commons. In this article you will learn how to download legal music.
All musicians are not looking to simply sell records, and it is far from all groups and individual musicians who have contracts with record companies. Most people involved in music as a hobby, whether they dream of a fat recording contract, or if they just do it because it's fun, they have one thing in common, and it is they want to get music out to as many as possible.
Here, the Internet has opened the door to amazing possibilities. The so-called DIY culture ( Do It Yourself ) actually thrive on the Internet. Anyone can now use a computer to record music and then spread the music all over the world thanks to the special services that distributes free music .
To launch his music under the license Creative Commons means briefly that you may disitrbuera music freely. Artists rarely serve any direct money from this, apart from any gifts, but they may like their music, find new fans and can thereby obtain gigs and the like.

In fact, there are an incredible number of bands around the world who spread their music as Creative Commons. There are many sites that focus on this type of music, and it should be emphasized that it is far from bad music here. Of course, you will not find the latest single from Kent or Madonna, but if you love to find new and exciting music of all genres, this is a gold mine.

Ladda ner free music

Jamendo is one of the most famous sites in the music released under Creative Commons license. At this writing there are here over 25 000 albums to download. All are categorized and the site is easy to navigate in. The music charge legally downloaded as MP3 - or Ogg format to your hard drive.
When I first found Jamendo, I wrote a short article about it to my blog. Then I found the one-man band Brad Sucks, and when I sat down with this article, I had to check up on Brad Sucks still remained. He did, and moreover, he had released a new album -Out of It .
Therefore, I use Brad Sucks - Out of It as an example to show how to download music from Jamendo. On this page you can click through to various categories, or browse the recommended music. In our case, enter " Brad Sucks " into the search field at the top of the page. When you get the search results, click through to Out of It.

I MP3-format music

On album pages with Jamendo, you can choose between listening to music streaming, or download it. Click on Download to download music to your hard drive, from which you can then transfer it to your MP3 player or mobile phone. The pop-up window that pops up, click again to download .

The download will now start automatically. If it does not, click on the link direct link at the top of the window. You can also choose to download the album via BitTorrent .Then you choose to download the music as either MP3 or Ogg. My experience is that it is faster to download normally, then it is not a lot of people distributing music via BitTorrent. Are the current media available with the recommended music, and Jamendo for spreading the word, it might be faster to use BitTorrent.
Want to learn more about BitTorrent and how to get started for free with utorrent, I recommend that you read my Beginner's Guide to uTorrent which is on my blog.
The file you download is archived in Zip format. That means you need a Zip utility to open it. Since Windows XP, Microsoft has implemented some support for Zip files in Windows, so probably you can open the file even if you do not have the Zip utility.Otherwise, you can download IZArc, which is freeware and free.
If you find any really good music, please leave a comment below! And if you have tips on other free music services, feel free to tell about them.

Review: Small speakers from Philips for laptops

There are very few laptops that have built-in speakers worth mentioning. Most are gruesomely bad, so would you listen to music, you should get a couple of external. Philips Multimedia Speakers 2.0 is small and can manage the power from USB.
Philips small speakers in white, black and yellow. They are pretty to look when placed together with the computer, at least if you have a computer that is white.Together with my metallic colored laptop cut it, however, entitled significantly in design, and the speakers suddenly looked very plastic.
The purpose of the speakers is primarily to the use of laptop computers. I certainly think they are just a bit to clumsy to be dismantled in a computer bag. Do you have an ordinary flat panel computer bag will you get knöka properly to get them down.

From the right speaker is three wires , one to the left speaker, one who you connect to your computer's audio output and one that connects to an available USB port on your computer. The latter is used for the speakers to get power. There is therefore no external power supply, but it is enough USB port. It is smooth.
On the underside of the speakers is a deepening and a small device to spin up the wiring to. It's good, because otherwise it becomes a small white viper's nest of wires.

Sound quality is absolutely acceptable

In the case of such small speakers to get forward its own demands on a different level than when testing ordinary speakers. First, the speakers so small, but most of all, you can not squeeze out what seems like forever when you're limited in power from the USB port.
Philips Multimedia Speakers 2.0 can do really well. You will not be able to use them for the dance floor down in the rec room, but to listen to music while sitting at your computer running absolutely fine. The sound is relatively good quality and is actually pulling up the volume quite well.
The price of Philips speakers is around 300 SEK, depending on where you shop somewhere. There is an agreed price.

It's fun to grub in the system

I've been a Windows user since the mid 1990's. Before that I drove the Amiga and Vic-64. Sure, I have test driven a lot of Linux, and Mac I've used a lot because I was educated typographer and works with newspapers. Therefore, I consider myself to have enough meat on the bones when I say that I think Windows is the best operating system .

The main reason is now that I'm used to. I can, and has been around since Windows 3.11. I have learned to make the system work as I want, by adapting it for my own taste, fellösa and look the little things I can tune to get better performance. And so on.

Mac users tend to always mock me for this. Why not get a Mac where you do not have to keep on fiddling the system? The answer to this, that I like to grub around in the system ! I want control of the operating system and be able to choose exactly what is running in the background.
Thanks to these opportunities, I have not had to change the computer very often. When it starts to go slow, just down the round and get back performance. It can safely do on the Mac also, of course - I do not write it here to start the OS war, but to explain why I prefer Windows.
When I sit down at a friend's computer and find it extremely tough, I can not help but to trim it. With old habits I go through all the background programs, run antispyware and cleaning, removes debris and uninstall unnecessary units. They are always happy when they can use his computer normally again, and I still think it's fun.
